We recently wrapped up a 4-day transformation for a local food manufacturer here in Central Ohio. While production floors get most of the attention, high-traffic breakrooms are just as critical for maintaining a hygienic, professional facility.
We stripped back old, allergen-trapping carpet tiles to the bare concrete and installed a high-performance ProRez system tailored for 24/7 operations.
The Technical Breakdown:
Moisture-Insensitive Primer: We used Prooxy S, a 3:1 ratio epoxy. Its lower viscosity allows it to “wet out” the surface and penetrate deeper into the concrete for a superior bond compared to standard 2:1 systems.
Industrial Aesthetic: We applied a Chestnut decorative flake broadcast. This specific color was chosen to align with the client’s branding while effectively concealing dirt and wear in high-traffic zones.
Zero-VOC Topcoat: We finished the project with a zero-VOC polyaspartic. This allowed the facility to remain fully operational during the install without the disruption of heavy odors or volatile organic compounds.
Safety First: To ensure employee safety, we incorporated 30-grit aluminum oxide into the final coat for increased slip resistance without sacrificing ease of cleaning.
From unhygienic carpet to a seamless, UV-stable, and durable floor in just four days.
